sorption; the active process of both ad and ab processes of engagement and exchange as one. the clay material’svarying mineral characteristics determine it’s relationship with the interval saline mist which it encounters. the processes of building up mineral layers while they dehydrate reveals the fragility of the form through crumbling and deforming due to gravity and duration. the event highlights the moments between matter and form through self-obscuring and disclosing. thistension persists as the material crumbles, hydrates, softens and diffuses.
